About the Position:

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) will report directly to the CMO. The primary role of the CNO will be to provide leadership, training and oversight for Stroke Link Health’s stroke care nursing model and programs. The CNO has ultimate administrative responsibility for nursing standards and practice regardless of the reporting relationship of the nurse.  Ensure nursing standards, practices, policies and procedures, in accordance with all applicable laws, regulatory and accreditation requirements are consistent with current research findings and national professional standards.  Direct training and instruction to nurses and lay persons in the care of stroke patients.  The CNO will play a key role in establishing strong communication strategies with physicians, payors, hospital leadership, nurses, and other healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and management to ensure that the mission and core values of the company are put into practice
  • Model the organization’s culture, values, and behavior
  • Ensure the practice of nursing is consistent with current national/state/local standards
  • Serve as nursing authority and/or liaison for nursing services to clients and other outside entities
  • Ensure the quality and measured outcomes of our protocols and services are meeting the highest standards of patient care
  • Define nursing roles appropriate for the Stroke Link Health protocols and pathways
  • Identify the FTE nursing requirements to implement our business model
  • Recruit, hire and lead qualified nurses to meet patient needs
  • Responsible for ramping up client sites and provide oversight and guidance of Stroke Central and Stroke Mobile teams
  • Monitor quality assurance and compliance with nursing and legal guidelines
  • Recommend, support, and participate in education services and training, including orientation of new employees
  • Establish nursing credentialing, in-service training, and continuing education requirements
  • Participate in policy decisions that affect nursing protocols and pathways
  • Conduct meetings with nursing management to ensure operational goals are met
  • Present Stroke Link Health model to payers, health system executives and businesses
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
  • Provide leadership and management to ensure that the mission and core values of the company are put into practice
  • Work closely with Leadership Team in ensuring operational success and exemplary customer service
  • Other responsibilities, as appropriate and necessary, to achieve Stroke Link Health’s goals and establish the company’s brand in the industry.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree required (MSN or other healthcare management field)
  • 5 years of progressive executive nursing management experience in clinical settings
  • Prior experience as CNO preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, managerial ability, good interpersonal relationships, and the application of sound administrative principals
  • Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations
  • Must be able to apply sound judgement beyond specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations
  • Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis
  • Unquestioned personal integrity, trust, dignity, respect, and diversity of thought

Certifications:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse with knowledge of nursing principles, theories and practice standards

Physical Working Conditions and Travel:

 This is largely a sedentary role.  This position may require some travel.

Remote (home) based in any state.
